System Requirements for Eurotransplant Member Site
What do you need to log-in?
Besides a valid user account, you are required to use a web browser that is capable of the following:
- Storing cookies
- Using 128 bit SSL
1. Cookies
A cookie is a small file that our website places on your computer. It contains an id number that refers to your current session. We use this to keep track of who can use which resources on the member site.
2. SSL
The Secure Sockets Layer protocol has become the universal standard on the Web for authenticating Web sites to Web browser users, and for encrypting communications between browser users and Web servers. Encryption ensures that your log-in data is sent to Eurotransplant in a way which prevents others listening in. All information you retrieve from the member site is also encrypted, so this works both ways. Eurotransplant has decided that the level of encryption should be industrial strength 128 bits SSL. If your web browser is not capable of this level, the member site (and the log-in page) will not load.
If you use Internet Explorer as web browser, you should check that you have version 5.5 or higher (you can check this by clicking 'Help' > 'About Internet Explorer' in the top menu).
If you have Netscape you should check for version 4.51 or newer. Mozilla should be 1.0 or newer. Opera version 5 or higher should suffice as well as any version of Safari.
Please ask your systems administrator if you have questions about your browser and it's security options.
What if you cannot reach the log-in page of the membersite?
If you keep getting re-directed to this page, your browser is not capable of using SSL, as mentioned above. Please upgrade to a recent version of your browser.
